Lilith in astrocartography
Black Moon Lilith is not a planet, moon or asteroid. It is a point: the lunar apogee, where the Moon's elliptical orbit is farthest from Earth. Astrologers named it after the figure of Jewish folklore who refused to submit, and read it as the untamed side of a person: raw desire, anger at injustice, independence, sexuality, and the parts of ourselves that others have called too much. Near a Lilith line, that side is read as coming to the surface.

Mean, true and other Liliths
There are several Liliths in astrology. This site uses the mean lunar apogee, the smoothed position most software shows by default, projected onto the ecliptic as the Swiss Ephemeris does. The "true" or osculating Lilith swings far more, by up to about 30°, and some astrologers prefer it. The asteroid named Lilith (1181) is a different body again. Because of these differences, astrologers generally weigh Lilith lines lightly and personally.
Who connects with Lilith lines
People reclaiming independence, artists who provoke, activists, and anyone who has felt like an outsider are those astrologers most often mention. The lines are read as places that make you less willing to conform, which can be liberating or isolating depending on where you are in life.

Lilith parans are read as untamed energy meeting another planet along a latitude. Lilith and Venus are described as intense, unconventional attraction; Lilith and Mars as fierce independence and anger at injustice; Lilith and the Moon as raw emotional truth; Lilith and Saturn as conflict with authority.

Why Lilith is on the map at all
Many classic astrocartography maps show only the ten planets. Lilith has become one of the most searched-for points in modern astrology, and many people want to see where it falls, so this map includes it as an optional layer. Its written readings follow common modern interpretations; weigh them as you would any symbolic tool.
Lilith and the other intense lines
Pluto lines are read as transformation, Mars lines as drive and conflict, Uranus lines as sudden change. Lilith lines sit alongside them as the most personal of the intense layers: less about events, more about what you refuse to hide.
