Why the MC is the career angle
The Midheaven, or MC, is the highest point of the zodiac above you at birth: the top of the chart and the cusp of the 10th house. It stands for career, reputation, status and the way the public sees you. On an astrocartography map, the MC lines are the places where each planet stood directly overhead when you were born, so a planet on its MC line is at the top of your chart there.
