The Sun's daily cycle, frozen at your birth
Of all the lines on your map, the Sun's are the easiest to picture. At the instant you were born, it was sunrise along one curve of the Earth, sunset along another, solar noon along one meridian and midnight along the opposite one. Your astrocartography map draws exactly those four places. The Sun ASC line is the sunrise line, the Sun DSC line the sunset line, the Sun MC line the noon line and the Sun IC line the midnight line.
Astrologers read the Sun as identity, vitality, purpose and recognition: the part of you that wants to be seen and to create something that is yours. Near a Sun line, those themes come forward. Which part of life they light up depends on the angle.

Your Sun sign colours every Sun line
The line shows where the Sun is emphasised; your Sun sign describes how it expresses itself. A Leo Sun on its MC line is read as natural showmanship in public life; a Virgo Sun on the same line as recognition for skill and service. Aspects matter too: a Sun closely square Saturn in your birth chart brings some of Saturn's pressure along to every Sun line.
Living near a Sun line
People often describe Sun-line places as energizing: easier to be yourself, easier to be noticed, a sense that things are happening. The flip side is exposure. The Sun is not a restful planet, and a strong Sun line can feel like permanent daylight: bright, busy and a little relentless if you are someone who recharges in private. The IC line is the gentlest of the four; the MC and ASC the most intense.

Because the Sun MC line marks local noon at your birth, you can check it without software: if you were born at 3 pm local solar time, it runs about 45° of longitude west of your birthplace, where it was then solar noon. Where a Sun line crosses another planet's line, astrologers read the two together along that whole latitude. A Sun and Jupiter paran is often described as generous visibility; Sun and Venus as charm and approval; Sun and Saturn as recognition that has to be earned.
